Medication Management Service CCMS Update

Dear Pharmacists

Earlier in 2016 the Canterbury District Health Board made the decision to discontinue its contract with the providers of the CCMS system we currently use for recording Medication Management Service (MMS) consultations.

As a result a small design group including MUR and MTA pharmacists has been working with Orion Health, the developers of the platform that supports Health Connect South and HealthONE, on a replacement electronic solution.

The design team have taken an objective view of the systems currently in use and have worked to try and develop solutions that will be more streamlined and time efficient than the current solutions.

The replacement solution will be used to capture all MMS assessments data from both MURs and MTAs and is intended to replace the various systems currently in use i.e. CCMS, Microsoft Access databases and Word based template documents.

Testing is scheduled to commence within the next week with rollout planned for mid-July ahead of the decommissioning of the CCMS platform soon after.

The situation around the exact timing of these events is somewhat fluid and more details around training materials, payments and the final date for you to be able to access CCMS will be communicated as they become available.

In the interim please finish any partially completed MMS referrals, to ensure you receive payment, and discharge any referrals you do not intend to complete.

In order for us to determine whether the redevelopment has been successful or not could you please complete a brief four question survey around your experience with the current CCMS solution via the survey monkey link below.

Kind Regards
