MEPS is hosting its first webinar on the topic of Emergency Legislation for Use in Disaster Situations.
With an increasing number of natural disasters occurring globally, the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), through its Board of Pharmaceutical Practice, established a working group to determine how FIP could help pharmacists prepare and deal with natural disaster emergencies. One of the problems that pharmacists need to consider in a natural disaster emergency is pharmacy law. This webinar will give participants an overview of pharmacy emergency legislation that has been introduced by various countries to support the role of pharmacists in natural disasters.
Learning objectives
At the end of this webinar the participants will be able to:
1. Review the legislation supporting the role of pharmacists and pharmacies in natural disaster management.
2. Provide examples of how enabling legislation have been used in actual natural disasters.
3. Explain how pharmacists can be prepared for natural disasters.
