Congratulations - Awards comes to Pharmacists in Canterbury

Dear colleague,

I hope you’ll all join me in congratulating several members of Canterbury Community Pharmacy Group following successes in two awards ceremonies held earlier this month.

Green Cross Health Pharmacy Awards

For the first time, Preceptor of the Year was awarded to CCPG member Karen Crisp, of Unichem Pharmacy in Christchurch. The award, which is based on feedback from students, was a huge compliment to Karen who said: “When students who have worked with us feel positive about pharmacy and want to become the best pharmacists they can be it feels like success to me.”

At the same ceremony, CCPG chairperson and director/co-owner of Unichem Bishopdale Pharmacy, Maria McIntyre was awarded the inaugural Distinguished Alumnus award.

“I am a Community Pharmacist. Why do I do it? It is interesting. If you would allow me to make a suggestion for the future based on my experience so far, I would say - Be interested in our profession. Be interested in our people,” says Maria.

I know many of you are doing lots of great work across our sector, so to see some of that work being recognised on a national scale/ at a national forum is a real win for us all.  Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.
