We at CCPG welcome Sarah Tester as our new Admin Support and Coordinator. Sarah started with us at the start of December and since then has been busy learning all about our systems and processes. An archivist by training Sarah brings new skills to our team and we plan to harness these as we work together.

Congratulations to the team at Leeston Pharmacy for their excellent engagement with Patient Safety Week 2017 promoting medication safety. The team celebrated with a $200 morning tea courtesy of Health Quality Safety Commission.

Congratulations to Sandra Sullivan who has been awarded Canterbury's top intern for 2017. Sandra interned at Unichem Bishopdale Pharmacy and is pictured here with Angela Blackwood, branch president of PSNZ. We wish Sandra well in her future career as a pharmacist.

You may already be aware that New Zealand is in the early stages of a national outbreak of whooping cough (pertussis). Babies aged up to one are particularly vulnerable to whooping cough. They often catch it from older siblings, parents, or other family members.
