Aarti Patel

Being the General Manager of CCPG fits in with Aarti’s passion of exploring the interplay between society, people, health and medicines.

Aarti qualified as a pharmacist in South Africa in the late 80s, and went on to work in the public sector, first as a research intern, then as the Chief Pharmacist in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal. 

Aarti clocked up experience working with the WHO, UNICEF, local and international Academia, local and international NGOs; as well as regional and national government. She says this time deepened her understanding of public health and pharmaceutical policy.

On the family front, Aarti is married to a devoted community pharmacist, Ajay. Their children, Kamil and Priyal, have embarked on careers in medicine. Thankfully dinner conversation does not always revolve around pharmaceuticals and medicine, says Aarti.
